OBITUARY OF OUR SECOND AND LAST FOUNDER MEMBER
We regret to inform you that Mr John Barberopoulos who was born on the 24.06.1939 died after an illness in the University Klinik, Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany. His death was confirmed around 3pm on the 22.10.2016.
In 1969, together with his eldest brother Romeo Barberopoulos he set up Nigerian Foundries Limited (NFL) which today has become one of the leading Foundry/Engineering Groups in Africa. His last success was to bring the foundry, technologically to such a level, so as to produce castings for the Oil & Gas industry.
This success was marked by producing 1,200 tons of Foundation Ballast castings for the Egina Oil & Gas Field Project under SAIPEM.
In 1958 he came to Nigeria and commenced his career as an electrical engineer at the Leventis Group of Companies.

Papa John will be remembered for his tenacious drive to run the business.and his direct involvement on the technical side.
He will be remembered by all and in particular the staff of NFL.
