2013 NFL Developments
* Merging of Ilupeju and Otta Plants
 

The Board of Directors of NFL resolved to merge the Ilupeju plant with the Otta plant to attain the following advantages:

  • Merging of induction melting plants to increased production of single castings from 3.5 tons up to 6 tons.
  • Overhead cost reduction by concentrating all activities in one plant.
  • Enhanced quality control administration.
  • Improved technology for production of castings for the Oil & Gas Industry.

Tie up between NFL & Gerdau of Spain to produce castings for the Oil & Gas Industry creating capacity enhancement in Local Content

 

NFL has entered into a Technical agreement with Gerdau of Spain to produce castings for Oil & Gas Industry under the provisions under Nigeria content Act of 2010. In October 2013, NFL had its first successful audit by Saipem to produce castings for the Oil & Gas Industry.
NFL and Gerdau are working to produce the first PAD-EYE castings for the Egina FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading)

NFL Partners with Evren Chain of Turkey

 

In October 2013, NFL signed a partnership agreement with Evren Chain of Turkey to produce in Nigeria a broad range of anchors for the offshore and marine industry. Evern Chain has all the international accreditations for making anchors and a broad range of mooring chains for the International market. NFL has already produced several casted anchors for the Nigerian Navy and other castings for Golden shipping, Grimaldi port, NPA etc.
This development will complement the activities of NFL’s sister company Metec West Africa Ltd who produces in Nigeria sacrificial anodes for the Marine and Oil & Gas Industry.
